The Dresden Night Market organizers are sharing the love with three donations to organizations in that town.
The Legion is getting $1,500. So is the Dresden Sidestreets Youth Centre and the Dresden Food Bank is getting $500.
Morena McDonald says this is the first year they’ve been able to do this, rather than just pumping money back into the next event.
“In the past we’ve had charities and local organizations be at the event to raise awareness and fundraise,” McDonald explains. “But this is the first year we’ve actually been able to give funds to other organizations.”
Local groups such as the Kinsmen, Big Brothers, Big Sisters, IPM and the Dresden Splash Pad group have been invited to take part in the Night Market free of charge.
The Night Market team is also donating funds to the Dresden BIA to buy cedar roping to help with beautification efforts over the holiday season.
