The holiday spirit is alive and well in Dresden.

Dresden Shines spokesperson Cindy Brewer says the small town has been transformed into a winter wonderland for this weekend’s festivities, starting with the return of the Dresden Night Market from 3-8pm, including live entertainment local vendors, food trucks, and Christmas music.

“It’s nicely spread out so the footprint of it is much larger this year, so you should feel nice and comfortable,” Brewer says. “The legion is opening up in case you want to go have a drink after you’ve finished at the market.”

The community-wide collaboration also includes residents who have decked out their homes and businesses with lights and decorations that will stay up until January 1st.

Brewer says it’s the beginning of a month-long holiday celebration.

“Our library is creating some self-directed family activities, storybook trails, they’re doing crafts with the kids. Our Santa Claus parade is on December 11th, it’s a stationary parade where you drive around and find the floats yourself at your leisure.”

You can also pick up an “illumination map” to tour light displays around town which will be on display through the end of the year.
