The holiday spirit will be alive and well in Dresden Thursday night as it transforms into Christmas Town.
Final preparations for the transformation have been completed to kick off late-night shopping every week during Merry and Bright Thursday Nights.
Downtown merchants will be open late until 8 p.m. and there will be activities for the whole family, including special exhibits and workshops led by the Dresden History Group. There will also be special celebrations held at the new Christmas Town tree beside Town Hall, along with a large holiday light installation.
“We’re so excited to keep growing and building Christmas Town,” said Stuart Kiar, a member of the Dresden Shines committee, in a news release. “So many volunteers have come together to make this happen, and it’s really fascinating to see what’s possible when we all work towards a goal.”
The annual Dresden Christmas Night Market will also return on Saturday, November 26 from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m., with nearly 100 local makers to shop from, food trucks, live entertainment, community groups, a wood carving demonstration, photos with Santa, a pop-up holiday bar, festive lights, and decorations.
