The 2011 Dresden Sports Hall Of Fame Banquet and Induction Ceremony will be held on Saturday, April 16 from Lambton-Kent Composite School.
Toronto Maple Leafs icon Wendel Clark and Jack Valiquette will be on hand as guest speakers for an evening of celebration and will share their memories and inspirations with the local crowd.
The legendary #17, whose jersey hangs from the rafters of the Air Canada Centre, played for the Toronto Maple Leafs three seperate times through his career, most notably as team captain from 1991 to 1994. Valiquette was in the NHL for seven years, first with the Leafs in 1974.
This year’s inductees include Brian Hind in the Male Athlete category, Female Athlete: Erin Roth, Legend: Alvie Lovell, Builder: Dresden Legion Br. 113, Team: 1959 Ontario Juvenile “C” Baseball Champions and the 1962 Ontario Baseball Junior “B” Champions.
