Charges have been laid following a single-vehicle crash involving a stolen vehicle on Highway 401 near Blenheim.
The Ontario Provincial Police said officers received several complaints on Tuesday at around 4:30 p.m. about a vehicle that was travelling in the eastbound lanes of Highway 401. Shortly after, the same vehicle left the road and crashed near the Mull Road overpass.
The driver was treated at the scene by paramedics for non-life-threatening injuries.
When police arrived they noticed that the driver appeared to be impaired and learned that the vehicle had also been reported stolen.
As a result, a 27-year-old with no fixed address has been charged with driving while impaired by drugs and alcohol, possession of stolen property over $5,000, mischief under $5,000, driving without a licence, and driving with an open container of liquor.
