Getting stopped at a RIDE program near Ridgetown has resulted in charges for a Windsor man.
The Ontario Provincial Police said officers stopped a vehicle at around 3 p.m. on Sunday, while conducting the Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) checkpoint at the Victoria Road on-ramp to the westbound Highway 401.
While speaking to the driver, authorities spotted an open container of alcohol in the vehicle and the driver was arrested.
As a result, a 21-year-old Windsor man has been charged with care or control of a vehicle with an open container of liquor, having a blood alcohol level over zero as a novice driver, and failing to comply with a release order.
The accused was held for a bail hearing.
