A Chatham man had to find alternate means of transportation this week.

The 36-year-old was stopped for speeding by provincial police on Bloomfield Road early Sunday morning.

Authorities say the investigating officer detected signs of alcohol consumption and administered a roadside screening test, which registered an alert.

The accused has been charged with speeding and driving without a valid permit, and had his license suspended for three days.

The OPP are reminding all drivers that no amount of alcohol or drugs is acceptable before you get behind the wheel.
