A London woman is lucky to have escaped unscathed after her car crashed into the Thames River near Chatham. 
Last night, emergency crews were called to the banks near Town Line Road, west of Prairie Siding.
Authorities say the 33-year-old driver lost control and the vehicle slid into the river.
The woman was able to escape from the car and swim to shore.
Chatham-Kent Police say they’ll be assessing the vehicle today to get it out of the water.
