Numerous charges have been laid after a stolen ATV wreaked havoc on properties in Zone Township.
Residents near Zone Centre Line called police just before 11:30 Monday morning about a stolen ATV that was being driven through field and into a bush.
Witnesses say the vehicle tore up farm land, damaging crops and causing thousands of dollars in damage.
With the help of good Samaritans in the area, officers were able to track the vehicle and arrest the driver.
Investigators say the 23-year-old was bound by several court orders, including weapons and driving bans, and was allegedly found to be carrying a large amount of methamphetamine, a BB gun, plyers, a headlamp, tin snips, bank cards, credit cards, keys, and cellphones.
A Walpole Island man is now facing various charges in connection to the prohibition and probation orders, as well as motor vehicle theft, possession of stolen property, dangerous driving, possession of break and enter instruments, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.
He was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.
