Driver Refuses Breath Test In Wallaceburg

A local man has been charged following a traffic stop in Wallaceburg.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service said an officer pulled a vehicle over on Dufferin Avenue at around 10 p.m. on Tuesday. A reason for the traffic stop has not been provided.

While speaking with the driver, the officer formed grounds to suspect that he had been drinking. The driver refused to provide a breath sample and was arrested.

As a result, a 49-year-old Wallaceburg man is now charged with failing to comply with a demand. He was later released from custody with a future court date.
