ROCK Missions, the United Way of Chatham-Kent and the Ska’na Family Learning Centre have come together to open a drop in centre located in downtown Wallaceburg, intended for those without shelter from the winter weather.
A soft opening for the James Street drop-in centre was held on Friday and is located in the hall of the St. James Church.
The drop-in centre will be open Friday, Saturday and Sunday each week from 2 to 6PM and will also be open for extreme cold warnings to give the local unhoused population a safe place to stay during our colder nights.
The centre will be open for anyone who needs a warm place to drop into, a bite to eat, some engagement and all that ROCK Missions has to offer.
R.O.C.K. Missions has an amazing team of volunteers who create and deliver more than 300 meals, twice a week (Tuesdays and Saturdays) to impoverished homes throughout Chatham-Kent. Their mission is to close the gaps within our community by partnering people through leadership, advocacy, mentorship and generosity.
