What began as a stolen bike investigation landed a Chatham man with drug charges.
Police were initially called late Tuesday morning about a bike that had been taken from a Sheldon Avenue home.
A security camera captured still images of the suspect, which helped police identify the accused on Lacroix Street later in the day.
The 25-year-old was taken into custody after a brief foot chase. Police then found the man was carrying some methamphetamine.
Charges include theft, possession of stolen property, and possession of a controlled substance.
The man was released from custody with a date in court next month.
