Close to $22,000 worth of drugs has been taken off the streets of Chatham-Kent.

Police carried out two search warrants in Chatham on Wednesday.

In the first search, officers seized $20,000 worth of cocaine along with scales, cellphones, and cash.

A 31-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, and two counts of failing to comply with release order. He was held pending a bail hearing.

Three Chatham residents ranging in age from 23 to 51 and a 24-year-old from Raleigh Township were also arrested and charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine. They were released with a court date of March 24th.

The second search turned up roughly $1800 worth of fentanyl, scales, and several cellphones.

In that case, two Chatham residents have been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking. They are also set to appear in court March 24th.
