A 25-year-old woman is facing charges following a suspicious vehicle report in Chatham.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers were called on Thursday about the suspicious vehicle on St. Clair Street. Police were told that two women in the vehicle appeared to be unresponsive.
When officers arrived, the driver tried to flee but was located and arrested a short distance away. During a search, officers also found that the driver was in possession of illegal drugs.
As a result, a Chatham woman is now charged with possession of a Schedule 1 substance and two counts of failing to comply with a release order. She was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
