A road rage incident has led to weapon and drug charges for a Chatham man.

The Ontario Provincial Police said officers were called on May 13 just before 2 p.m., after a gun was reportedly pulled during a road rage incident on Highway 401 at Communication Road in Chatham-Kent.

No injuries were reported.

With help from the Chatham-Kent Police Services, officers located a suspect in Chatham who was arrested without incident.

As part of the investigation, officers executed a search warrant at a Southend Crescent residence and seized ammunition, firearms, scales, and a quantity of suspected oxycodone.

A 22-year-old Chatham man is charged with assault with a weapon, using an imitation firearm in the commission of an offence, possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a prohibited device or ammunition, and failing to comply with an undertaking.

The accused was held for a bail hearing and then remanded into custody.
