A suspended driver is facing several charges after police discovered illicit drugs during a traffic stop in Chatham.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers pulled a vehicle over on Park Street just before 3 p.m. on Friday and found that the driver’s licence had previously been suspended.
Following a search, authorities discovered a quantity of crack cocaine and fentanyl.
As a result, a 45-year-old Chatham man was arrested and is now charged with two counts of drug possession, two counts of driving while suspended, and one count each of breaching a recognizance and failing to comply with a probation order.
The accused was later released from custody with a June court date.
