Chatham-Kent Police got more than they bargained for responding to a disturbance in Chatham.

Officers were called to a Lorne Avenue property and say a man was heavily intoxicated and refused to leave.

The accused was eventually arrested under the Liquor License Control Act, but allegedly grabbed and kicked two officers while being taken into custody.

The suspect has been charged with two counts of assaulting a police officer and was held behind bars until he sobered up.
