A slew of charges have been laid against a Blenheim man following an early morning police chase.

An officer on patrol around 2 o’clock this morning saw a vehicle passing through several stop signs and cutting through an apartment parking lot. Police tried to pull over the driver on Drury Lane, but the vehicle sped off, eventually turning onto Huffman Road.

Huffman is a dead end, and by the time the driver realized there was no way out and turned around, police had placed a tire deflation device on the road.

However, the driver kept going. When another cruiser arrived to help, the suspect hit the police car, then took off on foot through a field on Mink Line.

After a short foot chase and brief struggle, the driver was eventually taken into custody.

Charges include flight from police, dangerous driving, and resisting arrest, among other things. The 25-year-old was also arrested on an outstanding warrant.
