Chatham-Kent Fire officials are pointing to the importance of working smoke alarms after an early morning blaze sent three people scrambling for their lives.
The 2 adults and one child ran to safety, alerted by their alarms.
The fire broke out in the home on Given Rd. about 5 am.
Four stations responded to the call.
No injuries.
No cause or damage estimate is available yet.
