Early Morning Snowmobile Crash Sends One to Hospital

The Chatham-Kent Police traffic unit is investigating an early morning crash involving a snowmobile.

Emergency crews responded to the area of Given Road and Gregory Drive in Chatham around 2 o’clock this morning.

Authorities say a man was driving the machine through a field along with two other snowmobilers when he hit a snow-covered ditch.

Police say they were able to pinpoint the victim’s location using the mobile app What 3 Words.

The 36-year-old suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital in Chatham before being transferred to Windsor for further treatment.
