The federal government is easing quarantine requirements for fully vaccinated Canadiens when it comes to cross-border travel.
Staring July 5th, travellers who are able to enter Canada under the existing rules won’t have to self-isolate for 14 days, take a test on day eight, or have to stay in a quarantine hotel upon arrival, as long as they are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
Officials say those heading across the border will still have to have a suitable quarantine plan in place in case it’s determined they don’t meet the necessary requirements.
Officials say this is step one of a phased border reopening, and does not affect existing non-essential restrictions between Canada and the US. Those rules have been extended until at least July 21st.
