A decorated local war veteran has passed away.
Ed Miller of Blenheim made headlines this fall as he marked his 105th birthday, making him what was believed to be the oldest surviving Canadian veteran of the Second World War.
Miller passed away in hospital on December 23rd, two days shy of Christmas and what would have been his 42nd wedding anniversary.
The former aircraft mechanic had been given the 1939-45 war medal, oak leaf emblem, defence medal, and a bomber command bar.
More recently, he volunteered his time at the Cedar Springs United Church, Camp Kenesserie, and the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 185.
Funeral arrangements have not yet been announced.
