A tentative agreement has been reached between the Ontario government, Ontario school boards and the union representing 3,500 education workers.
The Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario (ETFO) announced that it had reached the agreement with the province and the Council of Trustees’ Associations Friday afternoon, days after announcing that employees would be taking part in a central strike vote.
Details of the agreement have not been released and a date for a ratification vote is currently being scheduled.
While a tentative agreement has been reached for education workers, an agreement has not yet been reached for ETFO’s 80,000 teacher and occasional teacher members.
Strike votes will continue to be held for teachers and occasional teachers until October 17.
