The efforts of NeighbourLink and several local partners to bring housing for the homeless to the region are starting to pick up.
The partnership including the United Way, ROCK Missions, and Hope Haven, along with the municipality are bringing in a group called Indwell to handle the operation.
They needed to hire a launch manager and started a fundraising campaign to raise 100,000 dollars by March 1st.
They already reached that goal thanks to donations from the partners and 50 individuals.
The ultimate goal is to build 150 new units in various sections of Chatham-Kent over the next 5 years.
The first need is property in Chatham to begin work on the first 40-50 units.
