Just last week the feds kicked in $600,000 dollars to help local efforts reduce the amount of phosphorous produced by local farms.
The phosphorous eventually works its way into the water system and can lead to huge algae blooms in Lake Erie effecting everything from swimming to the fishing industry.
Thursday they gave their plan, a 2 tank filtration system a workout at a local farm.
They believe eventually the system could reduce the amount that makes its way into the Thames river by 40 per cent.
