While Chatham-Kent schools stayed out of the line of fire in this week’s rotating strikes by public elementary teachers, they’re not out of the woods yet.
The ETFO has announced one-day strikes will continue into next week with boards in Simcoe, Waterloo, and two others in Northern Ontario to be targeted on Monday.
Union president Sam Hammond issued a statement on Wednesday, saying government negotiators haven’t responded to their proposals on supports for students with special needs or ending violence in schools.
Earlier this week, the union said its teachers will not be issuing term one report cards, which includes those in the Lambton Kent District School Board.
