The Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario (ETFO) and the provincial government are heading back to the bargaining table.
ETFO has received notification from the mediator to resume negotiations this Wednesday.
The notice will halt the expected announcement of rotating strike action, which was set to begin March 23.
“ETFO has not been engaged in full withdrawal of services for the past two weeks. The Ford government missed a real opportunity to get back to the table in that time,” said ETFO First Vice-President Karen Campbell. “Let’s be clear; ETFO has been ready to resume negotiations since February.”
ETFO represents 83,000 elementary public school teachers, occasional teachers and education professionals across the province.
