Emergency repairs to railroad tracks will likely cause traffic headaches for drivers in Chatham.
The Municipality of Chatham-Kent said on Friday that Grand Avenue East between St. Clair Street and Communication Road has been closed to allow CPKC Rail to conduct repairs to the railway crossing.
CPKC Rail said the closure is the result of a broken rail at the crossing.
Detour signs have been posted to direct traffic around the closure, which is expected to remain in effect until 5 p.m. on Saturday.
