A Chatham philanthropist is rebranding.
Emily Hime, founder of Hime for Help, has officially launched a new vision for her non-profit organization, now called RISE House International.
She says the organization has grown beyond her original vision of helping orphaned children back in 2012.
“We’re moving forward, we’ve grown, I’ve grown,” Hime says. “I was 19 when I first went down (to Haiti,) I’ve grown, my eyes have been opened, I’ve seen the bigger needs at hand and I really want to work towards making a bigger impact.”
Hime and the RISE House Board of Directors are now working on creating a business program and educational classes to help empower people living in poverty.
“We appreciate anybody who wishes to donate,” Hime says, “We do prefer to purchase our items and all our needs on the ground in Haiti to support the Haitian economy, we don’t want to take away from them as we are working to eradicate poverty in these areas.
Donations can be made through the RISE House website – risehouse.ca.
Hime says there are also a number of volunteer opportunities, both locally and in Haiti.
The new brand – RISE House – stands for Responsible Inspiration to Succeed and Empower.
