Enbridge, formerly known as Union Gas, is planning another big expansion.
In a proposal to the Ontario Energy Board, Enbridge is hoping to replace 60km of pipeline from the west end of Chatham-Kent to Tecumseh.
The expansion is expected to cost $88 million and create hundreds of local jobs.
Officials with Enbridge say that if the project is approved, construction will start next summer and the new line will be in service by the end of 2020.
