Enbridge Gas Inc. is considering relocating its Chatham office as part of a review of its facilities.
The natural gas company said it regularly reviews its real estate strategy and is exploring options to “better support our team and evolving operational needs.”
Enbridge’s local Chatham office is located at 50 Keil Drive North.
While Enbridge said no final decisions have been made regarding a potential relocation, the company has begun early conversations with local stakeholders.
“[We] will continue to keep employees, customers, and community leaders informed as we move through this process,” Enbridge said in an emailed statement. “There will be no reduction in job numbers as a result of this potential move. And this process will not impact our customers or the communities we serve.”
Enbridge Gas currently has around 1,000 employees located throughout southwestern Ontario.
“Any potential changes to office locations will not affect current or future projects in the region,” the company said. “We remain committed to maintaining our strong presence in the region.”
Enbridge Gas Inc. was formed in 2019 following the merger of Union Gas and Enbridge Gas Distribution.
