English Catholic and French Teachers Hit the Picket Line

No school today for students in the St Clair Catholic and French language boards as teachers take part in another one-day strike.

That, despite a return to bargaining for at least one of the unions involved – OECTA resumed talks with the province yesterday, although at this point there’s no word on how it’s going.

Earlier this week, Education Minister Stephen Lecce announced the government is making concessions on class sizes and mandatory e-learning.

Public high school teachers are holding rotating strikes in a number of areas, however the Lambton Kent District School Board isn’t among those affected.

And public elementary teachers have said if they don’t have a deal by tomorrow, they’ll be ramping up their job action as of next Monday.
