St. Clair College has gone over 12,000 students for the first time in it’s 51 year history.
According to the number they have 12, 815 students attending the three campuses of the college including Chatham.
That’s up a whopping 21 per cent from last year.
The Chatham campus is up about 2 per cent to just over 1,200 students.
Vice President John Fairley says “ with the work stoppage that happened last year, to having increases at our campuses in Chatham, and Windsor, it has been very gratifying for all of our staff, our faculty and everyone”.
He says there is a lot happening in Chatham, and they are working closely with elected officials and the business community to make the Chatham campus a destination college.
He says they will be looking into more student housing in the near future.
