Spokesperson Sarah Regnier-Pittman says a full course turkey dinner will be served to those who regularly participate in the St Vincent de Paul Friday meal program.

“We used to help with their Friday lunch bag program, and at Thanksgiving we decided to step it up one year,” Regnier-Pittman explains. “It is open to anybody, not just those who take part in that program, anyone is welcome to attend.”

Along with volunteering to do some of the cooking and serving up the meal, the staff is also holding an internal food drive to fill the Grocery Shelf at the Spirit and Life Centre.

Regnier-Pittman says the luncheon has become a true community effort. Burns Restaurant in Dresden provides the turkey dinner each year, Whyte’s Foods is donating pickles for the meal, and Conagra in Dresden is helping to support the food drive.

The meal, which is free of charge, will be served at 11am Friday morning.
