A section of Erie Shore Drive remains closed due to flooding as high winds and waves pounded the Lake Erie shoreline.
Volunteer fire fighters and paramedics went door to door on Erie Shore Drive and Dyke Road checking in on residents and collecting emergency contact information should an evacuation be deemed necessary.
While municipal officials say they aren’t anticipating an evacuation, they are aware that prolonged flooding could jeopardize the integrity of the road.
There are about 100 homes and cottages along that stretch of road.
