A local author is out with a new book and it takes a dramatic look at growing up along the shores of Lake Erie. 
It’s called Escape To Erie’s End and is written by Wade Vermeersch and Pamela Munteen.
“The book is a coming of age story, a young adult novel, about a mother and daughter who essentially escape to Erie’s End,” Vermeersch explains. “The daughter makes friends with a great group of individuals all going through their own trails and tribulations, as most teenagers seem to do, and a fun and also terrifying summer ensues.”
Vermeersch grew up in Blenheim, and spent a lot of time in Erieau.
“It’s kind of a fictionalized Erieau, I think you have a little more beauty if you can do that, fictionalized and a little more fun.”
The book is available now at Amazon.ca. The paperback edition should be out within a month.
