A pair of women’s groups are partnering to celebrate International Women’s Day with a special two-day event.
The Zonta Club of Chatham-Kent and SheLeads, an organization committed to uplifting and advancing all women in CK, will be holding the I AM WOMAN event on Friday, March 8 and Saturday, March 9 in Chatham
The event will kick off with a women’s march, organized by Zonta, on Friday beginning at 4:30 p.m. Sweet C’s on King Street. Participants are encouraged to wear the colour purple, craft signs, and wield pom poms.
The festivities will continue at the Chatham Armoury at 5 p.m. with several activities planned, including interactive booths, food, music, a dance tutorial, and a lip sync battle.
A women-owned and operated vendor expo will then take place at the Armoury on Saturday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
A minimum $5 donation is required to attend the event on Saturday and Sunday at the Armoury with all proceeds being donated to the Chatham-Kent Women’s Centre.
