This past weekend was a blast! I had lots of fun at the Exhibition and Shrewsburry Ribs N’ Blues Fest. My weekend started out at the Exhibition on Friday night which was a great time! i was able to see all of the rides, vendors, and tractors for the tractor pull later on that night. The Summer Escape was in the parade as well on the Friday night to kick off the 142nd Dresden Exhibition which was very enjoyable.
My morning on Saturday started out back at the 142nd Dresden exhibition. I was able to see the antique tractor pull, all of the rides on the midway, the vendors, and people participating in activities like the Rise 2 Fame contest. On Saturday evening I was one of the judges for the Rise 2 Fame Contest. There were a few winners from both the junior and youth category. The performances were all really good and the people who were picked to go on are now moving onto the Western Fair talent competition. The Exhibition itself was loads of fun and I was able to meet many great people at this event which truly added to it’s greatness.
On my Saturday afternoon I headed down to Shrewsbury for the Shrewsburry Ribs N’ Blues Fest. The event was taking place later on that day but there were many volunteers present at it. They had a great line up of music including: MonkeyJunk, Blackburn, Tom Lockwood, the Moondog Howlers, and other great blues musicians. This events proceeds were going right back into the community for their community centre which is great.
All in all, I had a great weekend filled with lots of fun, laughs, and great people. I am looking forward for this weekend, I will be going to Uncle Tom’s Cabin for Emancipation Day, Rodney to see the Canadian Cowgirls Rodeo Drill Team, Gala Days, and Art on the Boulevard in Erieau.
