Expanded health services are now available on Walpole Island. 
The Chatham-Kent Community Health Centre recently opened its newly expanded clinic in the Thunderbird Plaza, to reflect the culture, language, and traditional healing services of Indigenous people.
“The Bkejwanong Community enjoys the new health facility with the added Healing Centre to compliment Traditional Healing methods,” says Glenna Jacobs, CK-CHC Traditional Healing Community Outreach Worker. “It is a well utilized space for upcoming medical professions providing health services for our community.”
A ribbon cutting was held earlier this month on the new site, which includes a circle room and healing centre to accommodate ceremonies like smudging.
