More local residents are being asked to limit any non-essential water use as repairs to a major transmission line are made.

Along with those living in Chatham, residents and businesses in Grande Pointe, Pain Court, Dover Centre, Mitchell’s Bay, Dresden, Tupperville, Eberts, Jeannette’s Creek, Thamesville, and Kent Bridge should conserve water through Friday, limiting tasks such as watering gardens and lawns, car washing, and topping up swimming pools and hot tubs.

Officials with the Chatham-Kent PUC say drinking water is safe and regular household use can continue.

Charing Cross Road remains closed between Middle Line and Talbot Trail while repairs to the transmission line continue.
