The provincial and federal governments are working together to expand high speed internet to rural southwestern Ontario.
A request for proposals has been issued for up to 16.7 million in broadband infrastructure for Middlesex and Elgin Counties.
The RFPs close in November, then contracts will be awarded and service provider agreements put in place.
The goal is to have an extra 250,000 households connected to high speed internet in the next 18 months.
