A local festival is getting a financial boost, thanks to newly announced provincial funding.
The Ontario government is putting up $380,000 through the 2026 Experience Ontario program to support 5 festivals and events in the region.
Among those is the Thamesville Threshing Festival, which is in line for $20,000. Organizers say the funding will help implement more eco-friendly and sustainable practices as well as enhance park maintenance, ensuring the festival makes a positive impact for years to come.
“This generous $20,000 from the Experience Ontario program is a remarkable opportunity for the Thamesville Threshing Festival,” Adrianna McKeon, Director and Grant Coordinator at Thamesville Threshing Festival Inc. said in a news release. “It will allow us to expand our events and engage more deeply with our community, celebrating our local culture and traditions.”
The Threshing Festival, now into its 51st year, runs June 19 and 20 in Thamesville’s Ferguson Park.
