Local students will be getting an inside look at careers in the trades.
A two-day expo is being held at the Bradley Centre in Chatham starting today.
Municipal officials say it’s all about educating students about career possibilities and showcasing the necessary skills to land a job.
According to Economic Development Officer Geoffrey Wright, skilled trades jobs are in high-demand in Chatham-Kent. “Anywhere from the metal trades, welders, any type of automotive assembly work or tier one type parts manufacturing, the trades are in demand.”
Five local school boards in Chatham-Kent, Sarnia, and London are taking part in the event, targeting kids in grades seven through 12.
