A local family has lost everything, after an explosion leveled their Dover home on Saturday afternoon (Dec. 3.)
Four local stations, and 22 firefighters battled a blaze at 8477 Wren Line in Dover, after the blast was reported at around 1:10pm on Saturday.
Fire officials say $300,000 damage was caused, and the home just outside of Wallaceburg, was completely destroyed.
Witnesses on scene said the explosion launched the front door of the home right across the street and smoke could be seen from miles away.
The two adults inside the home managed to escape the house with non-life threatening injuries.
However, the man is still in hospital recovering from second or third degree burns.
The Ontario Fire Marshall and the Chatham-Kent Fire Department are still investigating the cause of the explosion.
Donations are being accepted for the family, and can be dropped off at the 99.1 Studio, located at 520 James Street in Wallaceburg.
