Environment Canada has extended its special weather statement as a cold snap takes hold of the region through Saturday.
The statement says a bitterly cold northwesterly flow will develop over the area today, with wind chill temperatures plunging to -30 overnight.
Thing start to warm up a bit on Sunday with the daytime high reaching -1.
