Environment Canada has issued a cold weather warning for Chatham-Kent, ahead of very cold wind chill temperatures this evening.

The weather agency says wind chill values between minus 30 and minus 35 C are expected tonight through Saturday morning.

Extreme cold warnings are issued when very cold temperatures create an elevated risk to health such as frost bite and hypothermia.

Local residents are urged to cover up if going outside. Frostbite can develop within minutes on exposed skin, especially with wind chill.
