Failing to Stop Lands LaSalle Driver with Charges

Speeding away from police has landed a LaSalle resident with charges.

Provincial Police say an officer tried to pull over a vehicle for a Highway Traffic Act violation near Charing Cross Road shortly before 11 o’clock Tuesday night, but the driver sped away.

The vehicle was later found at the westbound Tilbury service centre, and the driver was taken into custody without incident.

The 21-year-old is charged with failing to stop for police, speeding, driving with an unsealed container of liquor, driving with cannabis readily available, and driving without a valid permit.

The accused was released with a future court date.
