Fairfield Park Outbreak Officially Declared Over

The COVID outbreak at Fairfield Park is now officially over. Officials at the long term care facility announced yesterday the last remaining staff member affected by the virus had recovered and today, public health declared the outbreak resolved.

Across Chatham-Kent, there have been two new confirmed cases today with one recovery, raising the total active caseload to 12. There is one local resident being treated for the virus at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance.

Health officials in Windsor say another person has died because of COVID-19. The health unit is also reporting 19 new infections today.

The numbers in Lambton County have spiked today with 47 new cases being reported, raising the total active caseload to 106. Almost half of the new cases stem from an outbreak at the Kettle and Stony Point First Nation.

Province-wide, there are 994 new cases today. Health officials say 10 more Ontarians have died from the virus.
