A family dispute between two men has led to threat and weapon charges for a local man.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers responded to a disturbance on Wellington Street in Wallaceburg at around 9 a.m. on Wednesday, after an argument between a 20-year-old Chatham-Kent man and a 48-year-old Wallaceburg man escalated into violence.
Authorities said the Chatham-Kent man allegedly used a weapon and made threats toward the other man before leaving the home.
The suspect was later located and arrested on West Court. The 20-year-old is now charged with uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and assault with a weapon.
The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing.
