Broadband fibre internet is coming to Chatham-Kent.
Telecom giant Bell announced today that 38,000 customers in Chatham, Blenheim, Ridgetown, Tilbury and Wallaceburg will soon have access to the technology.
Promising speeds of up to 1 gigabit per second Gbps with the potential to increase to 40 Gbps, construction on the 270km of fibre cable will begin in the summer with roll out in the fall.
Disruptions are expected to be minimal, but bell representatives will contact residents when work is being done in their area.
